Aleksandr Dugin: “If the USA Gets Weaker, We Will Invade Former Soviet Union Republics Again”

November 16, 2010
The ideologist of the current government of Russia, philosopher-traditionalist, Professor Aleksandr Dugin stated that Russia is waiting for global transformations.

“For example, if the USA gets weaker, we will occupy the former republics of the Soviet Union again in various forms – lightly or rigidly. However, we cannot see similar perspective yet,” said Dugin in his interview with DELFI.lt

“We cannot destabilize situation in Lithuania because we do not hold corresponding instruments there. As for Latvia and Estonia, we hold similar instruments there and have used them several times (Bronze Night in Estonia - DELFI). Russia always supported its Diaspora in Latvia and we will continue it in future too; however I doubt Russia will manage to carry out harsh revolutionary activities in the NATO member states. They will use economical oppression and purchase of properties in order to gain control but Russian businessmen are not patriots – they get hold of properties and then work for their own profit,” said Dugin.

Dugin also discussed relation with Georgia in the interview. He directly and cynically confessed everything what the Kremlin wants to hide from the entire world.

“Russia struggles to restore its control on the CSI territory and tries to force out the USA from the area. They are now fighting for Belorussia, Ukraine and Georgia. If the authorities of these countries are pro-American, Russia will always try to destabilize the inter-political situation in those countries and to create all conditions for the overthrow of the government or to complicate the situation which will lead to the military invasion as it happened in Georgia. We cut off two regions from Georgia and if Medvedev had not stopped, we could even go farther – we could have occupied Tbilisi too. Georgian people are very concerned because we did not do it. They respect the power. They have endured the supremacy of Turkey, Iran and Russia and we were not the worst of all. They always spitted at us, threw rubbish at us but always respected our power.”
