Representatives of the Human Rights Organizations Will Monitor Public Assembly

Representatives of the human rights organizations will monitor public assembly in front of the parliament of Georgia in Tbilisi.

In the statement of the civil society the representatives of the human rights organizations express their solidarity with the population of the country; besides that, in order to prevent any possible provocations and illegal activities throughout the assembly, the “public patrols” will monitor the assembly and guarantee the protection of the legal rights of the participants and provide them with legal aid if it is needed.

“In parallel to it, we call upon the activists of the ruling party, law enforcement institutions, organizers of the public assembly, leaders of the participant political parties, political activists to act in accordance to the law and to protect the rights of the population in order to avoid further provocations,” the statement of the civil society.

The “Public Patrol” has declared full mobilization; the hotline number has started working.

Irakli Sesiashvili, Kakha Kakhishvili, Manana Kobakhidze, Irina Putkaradze, Manana Mebuke, Ia Mamaladze, Tamar Kiknadze, Zurab Putkaradze, Giorgi Mariamidze and representatives of other non-governmental organizations signed the statement.
