Pupil’s Protest in Telavi – Police Officer with Horns and Tail

November 26, 2010
Yesterday was the deadline for the competition “I Love My Police” launched by the Ministry of Education and Science together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. A pupil of a Telavi public school painted a police officer with horns and tail in protest. The Kakheti News Center was informed that the police try to find out the name of the author of the painting.

The pupil said he and his classmates did not want to participate in the competition; but the school director compelled them either to paint pictures or to write compositions.

“With the painting I expressed my protest. The directors should not treat us like slaves. They should not compel us to do what we do not want to do,” said the pupil in his interview with the Kakheti News Center. We do not publish the name of the pupil because of his security.
