The Cases of Detainees as a Result of Special Operation Enver Sent to Batumi City Court

The cases of detainees as a result of special operation Enver conducted by the MIA Counter Intelligence department will be supposedly sent to Batumi City Court on December 14th.
As Shalva Lebanidze, the lawyer of one of the detainees, Ruslan Galogre convicted in the espionage for Russia stated to Interpressnews, the term of his client’s preliminary arrest will be exhausted on December 14th.

If the term of investigation is not prolonged, the case will be sent to Batumi City Court, according to him.

According to Nana Tsuladze, the lawyer of Armen Gevorkian, the general director of Georgian branch of the company SayBolt and his assistant Ruben Shikoian, the term of the preliminary arrest of her clients will be exhausted on December 15th. The case will be heard in the Court afterwards.

The trials will be closed as the case concerns the state secrecy, namely espionage.

The case is under the secret griffin and the lawyers cannot give away the details. The majority of detainees are from Adjara region.

The Counter Intelligence Department of Georgian MIA conducted the mass operation entitled Enver which revealed tens of people being in the secret connection with the Main Intelligence Department of General Headquarters of the Defense Ministry of Russian Federation. 15 people were detained as a result of special operation. The procedural agreement was made with two of them. 4 people out of 13 detainees are citizens of Russian Federation, 9 – citizens of Georgia.
