Mass Imprisonment of Entrepreneurs Continues

Officers of the Constitutional Security Department detained employees of the Kutaisi Tax Inspection and organized group of entrepreneurs for giving and accepting bribe.

According to the MIA, as a result of the large-scaled operation of the CSD, the officials of the Kutaisi Tax Inspection Gela Meshveliani and Giorgi Giorgadze were detained.

Group of 18 entrepreneurs was detained for giving bribe. They are: Giorgi Bilisashvili, Jemal Turabelidze, Zurab Toradze, Ioseb Nikoleishvili, Khvicha Popkhadze, Lara Silagava, Tengiz Arbolishvili, Liana Svanidze, Avtandil Shanidze, Tsutsa Eliashvili, Zaur Kublashvili, Nodar Gumberidze, Mzia Goglichidze, Badri Kopaliani, Abesalom Turabelidze, Marina Kobalava, Mamuka Vadachkoria and Gocha Omanidze.

The entrepreneurs sold unregistered and bootlegged goods in Kutaisi. They paid bribes to the tax inspectors every month who preliminarily informed them about planned inspection and protected them.

The crime is punished by imprisonment up to 15 years. CSD is investigating the fact.
