December 28, 2010
Part of fighters for the territorial integrity of Georgia continues hunger-strike on the Hero Square near the Memorial. The strike started on December 27and the hunger-strikers say they will continue it till January 7 if their requests are not satisfied.

According to the initiative group, they started strike because of the extremely poor social conditions of most part of the society.

“We have petitioned to the City Hall, Public Defender of Georgia, and Georgian Young Lawyers Association in order not to breach the constitutional rights of hunger-strikers,” the head of the initiative group Tamaz Gochashvili reported to the News Agency “Pirveli.”

At the moment, about 20 people are on hunger-strike who request improvement of their social conditions. Most of them participated in the wars for the territorial integrity of Georgia.
