According to his allegation, he was the author of the idea of “alternative government of South Osettia.’’ He shared his opinions on this idea with Amiran Meskhel and Shalva Zhghent on his second visit to Tbilisi, on September 17th of 2005.

Sanakoev states that his main task in Georgia was not to let the warlike actions break out in Georgia. He gives credit to himself for removing Irakli Okruashvili from the office and activation of the “project Vano Merabishvili.” According to his allegation, if Okruashvili stayed in the office, he would have subordinated Tskhinvali by force and Russia would not have received right for holding 2014 Olympiad in Sochi.
