Akhalgori Youth House at Risk of Losing Funding

January 18, 2011
Akhalgori Youth House might lose funding, stated the director of Akhalgori Youth House Tamar Mearakishvili to interpressnews.

“I got this presumption due to the opening of a similar house in Tserovani at IDP settlement. My teachers were told that they will have to write an application of resignation if they do not agree on moving there. Though were not officially told that Akhalgori Youth House will be ceased financing but last year there was a same situation with Akhalgori kindergarten – it was opened in Tserovani and Akhalgori garden was ceased financing,” – stated Tamar Mearakishvili.

According to her, if Akhalgori Youth House does not get salaries for the end of January it will be a sign of ceasing the financing and she will address court in this case.

According to Tamar Mearakishvili, there are 12 youth circles operating in Akhalgori Youth House with 60 students. The House organizes different activities and excursions every month.
