Abkhazian De-facto Security Officers Ruthlessly Beat Raul Kishmaria

In Abkhazia, Raul Kishmaria was ruthlessly beaten for the import of vegetables from the territory under control of Georgian authority. News Agency Apsni News reported about the incident.

The incident occurred on January 22. Officers of the de-facto security service of Abkhazia stopped Raul Kishmaria near the village Kashtak in Gulripshi district, who was transporting the vegetable by his truck. The security officers alleged the vegetable “was imported from Georgia through smuggling.”

During the investigative-operative activities, the de-facto security officers ruthlessly beat Raul Kishmaria. As a result, he was taken to hospital. The De-facto military prosecutor’s office of Abkhazia launched criminal case under “Abuse of Power.”

The relatives of the victim held a protest rally in the Liberty Square in Sokhumi on January 26 and requested punishment of harassers. De-facto Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Dziapshipa met the demonstrators at the place and promised them to punish every offender according to the law. De-facto President of Abkhazia Sergei Baghapsh ordered the law enforcement institutions to punish the harassers in accordance to the law.
