Austrian Owner of the Route # 77 Concerned about Tender Results

February 25, 2011
Hornung Herald Christian - Austrian owner of the route # 77 in Tbilisi is concerned by tender results.

Christian told the Interpresnews at the protest rally of the drivers of the route mini-buses that this problem is urgent not only for Georgian citizens but for potential investors too.

“Nobody will invest money in the country where the rights of private property owners are neglected. I legally invested money in the business of the route mini-buses. After the winners of the tender were nominated, I applied to the Tbilisi City Hall and minister of internal affairs and requested them to protect the rights of private owners. However, they did not respond to my petition. So, I have to protect my rights here in the street,” said Christian.

He added that the MIA shall investigate the situation in this business to find out where the money, which the mini-bus drivers paid every day, was transferred and why it was not accumulated in the budget of the City Hall.

Christian called upon the president of Georgia to get interested in the ongoing situation.

People cannot travel in Tbilisi. The drivers of the route mini-buses are on strike and they request abolishment of the tender results. The drivers do not intend to stop their protest before February 28.
