Gogi Topadze Met Abkhaz and Ossetian Businessmen in Cyprus

President of the Georgian company “Kazbegi” Gogi Topadze met Abkhaz and Ossetian businessmen in Cyprus.

The meeting was organized in the framework of the international project Legal Frames for Georgian-Abkhaz Economic Cooperation.

Abkhaz businessmen requested meeting with Topadze. Three Abkhaz and three Georgian businessmen participated in the meeting but only one businessman represented Tskhinvali region in Cyprus.

In the framework of the visit, the participants were introduced with the Cyprus model of conflict resolution, met authors of the economic part of the Cyprus Peacekeeping Plan; they learned about economic cooperation between Republic of Cyprus and unrecognized Turkish Republic of North Cyprus.

“Regardless the future political situation in our country and in the entire Caucasus region, Georgian, Abkhaz and Ossetian peoples shall destroy the enemy opinions about each other and work on confidence-building among people. So, I accepted the invitation of Abkhaz businessmen. Abkhaz and Ossetian people agree that restoration of human and business cooperation, implementation of common projects in business, education, culture and other fields are necessary,” said Topadze.

The meeting was organized by the Caucasus Business and Development   Network.
