Makievs’ Children to Be Taken to Orphanage

March 18, 2011

Social Agency will take the children of the Makievs’ family from Lapniani village in Lagodekhi district to orphanage. Lagodekhi district administration informed the Kakheti News Center about it.

“We kindly inform you that the Lagodekhi district administration has information about this family and is going to assist them together with corresponding service centers. With the support of Lagodekhi district governor the commissary of Giorgeti Community and representatives of the corresponding agency took the disabled children aged 11 and 15 to the Tbilisi Boarding School # 200 for disabled children; however, the multidisciplinary commission did not accept the children due to their incompliance with their contingent. Currently, the social agents are looking for the foster family and if it is not found, the children will be taken to Senaki orphanage. In parallel to it, as soon as the court restricts the parent’s rights, the girls aged 2, 4, 8 and 12 will be taken to the already selected foster families. As for the seventh child, 8 months, he will remain in the family and from April 1, 2011 till January 1, 2012 he will receive monthly food vouchers,” said specialist of the public relation department within the municipal board Marina Gogoladze.

Kakheti News Center spread information about the Makievs on March 17. The Human Rights Center blamed the social agency in indifference to the family problems. According to the human rights organization, seven children in the family lived in unbearable conditions. The neighbors said the children often ate grass because they do not have bread to eat.
