Murderer of Four People Found in Village Gagidashi

Gali Region de-facto police has uncovered the case of murder of four people in the village Gagidashi of Gali region. The Abkhaz media has disseminated information on the corresponding.

According to the head of Gali region de-facto police Vadim Ghvinjia, the suspect is the resident of the village Gagidashi Otar Barkaia. “The law-enforcement officials are working on the suspect’s detainment right now,” – stated Ghvinjia.

The crime took place in the village Gagidashi of the Gali region on March 19th. 75-year-old village resident Vazha Kvaratskhelia was celebrating his birthday. According to the witnesses, Otar Birkaia who was also present at the feast seemed to like Kvaratskhelia’s daughter-in-law. Kvaratskhelia’s son physically assaulted him as he insulted his wife. Birkaia and others were drunk at that moment.

Birkaia left the place after the incident. However, he came back with a gun in a while and killed the head of the family Vazha Kvaratskhelia, his son, neighbor Tengiz Mebonia and a resident of the neighboring village, an Osettian, former colonel Suliko Pliev.

Vadim Ghvinjia denied the information disseminated by Georgian media as if the motive of attack was pillage.
