Lawyers to Start Hunger Strike Near the Parliament

Lawyers intend to start hunger strike in front of the Parliament of Georgia from May 17. Today, the lawyers have sent notice about the planned strike to the Tbilisi City Hall.

Lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze said they will start 5-day non-stop hunger-strike from May 17.

He added initially 30 lawyers will start the protest and Khachapuridze will be among them; other lawyers might also join them after five-day strike.

Shalva Khachapuirdze said they want to attract the attention of the entire world and to show them there is no freedom in Georgia.

According to the lawyer, they request free trial in Georgia, impartial investigation of murder cases of young people killed in the streets, execution ofthe EHCR verdict on Sandro Girgvliani’s murder and release of the Judge Giorgi Chemia from prison.
