Participants of Protest Demonstration on May 9 in Kakheti Are Massively Fined

Participants of the protest demonstration, organized in Kakheti region on May 9, are massively fined for driving a car without belts and some other violations. According to the Information Center of Kakheti, more than 15 drivers have been fined so far; they all participated in the protest demonstrations.

One of them is Zurab Tergiashvili who said the Gurjaani district police officers fined him in the village of Velistsikhe. “I was wearing a driving belt but the police officer told me he was instructed from the chief to fine me and now I have to pay 40 GEL to the budget,” said Tergiashvili.

Kakheti regional department of the Patrol Police and district stations do not comment on the mass fining of protest participants.
