Leader of Kutaisi Office of Free Georgia Gogi Tsulaia Detained

May 18, 2011

Leader of the Kutaisi office of the Political Movement Free Georgia Gogi Tsulaia was detained.

Interpresnews’ correspondent in Kutaisi reported that Tsulaia was arrested when he was holding protest demonstration.

Gogi Tsulaia, together with party members, was writing on the rubbish bins in the street: “Misha, GO!”

Patrol police officers detained him and took to a pretrial detention setting.

Free Georgia immediately responded to Gogi Tsulaia’s detention and blamed the government of persecuting people with different opinion.

“This fact is continuation of the governmental oppression on the people who have different opinion and protests the activities of the current authority,” said the party members.

Free Georgia connected Tsulaia’s detention with the briefing where the head of the regional office criticized the government.

According to the press-center of the political party, Gogi Tsulaia was taken to a Kutaisi Police Pretrial Detention Setting.
