A Family of Four Orphan Kids was Denied Electricity and Food Vouchers

May 19, 2011
Family of Gavashelishvilis in the village Gamarjveba of Dedoplistkharo Region where four orphan kids live were not given electricity and food vouchers.

As the aunt of the children Maia Gavashelishvili stated to Kakheti Information Center, she numerous times addressed the social service agency, the Governor of the village and the local government but nobody pays attention to their problem.

The orphan kids do not receive pension or the social assistance and are living under extremely poor conditions.

Maia Gavashelishvili addressed the NGO Civil Activism Center for help. The NGO implements an advocation project for the people under the poverty line in Kakheti. The project is supported by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI). The lawyers of the organization will study the social-economic situation of Gavashelishvili family at the spot and will advocate that the family gets pension and social assistance.
