Victim of Family Violence Asks for Shelter

63-year old Tsismar R-shvili from the village of Gurjaani region is a victim of family violence and asks for shelter. She states that her drunk son beat her once again yesterday and threatened to rape her.

Tsismar R-shvili cannot move independently. Her leg is broken. Her husband and son beat her a month ago and then threw her out of the second floor.

“I ask for help and shelter. My husband has a psychological problem and he often insults me. My son drinks, then he beats me and insults me. If my son is arrested again, he will kill me when he comes out of jail. I’m very scared,” – states Tsismar R-shvili.

The victim has not addressed the police yet. According to her neighbors, she is scared. “Her husband and son threatened to kill her if she testifies to the police,” – stated neighbors.
