Republicans Protesting against Requesting Money from the Residents for Constructing Numerators

June 17, 2011

Republican Party protests against the obligation of the residents to pay for constructing the individual numerators - the process started by the company Georgian Water and Power.

As one of the leaders of Republican Party Tina Khidasheli stated at the special briefing held today, according to the agreement made between the company and Tbilisi City Hall, Georgian Water and Power was obligated to construct the numerators for free, without any additional fees and  the first stage of this process was supposed to be already complete.

According to Republicans, article 12 of the agreement singlehandedly states that the construction of numerators should not have caused the additional expenses for the subscribers. Also, the agreement states that the construction of collective numerators should have been completed no later than 4 years after the enforcement of the agreement. The agreement took effect starting from May 14 of 2008. Accordingly, half of Tbilisi apartment buildings, according to Tina Khidasheli, should already have had numerators constructed.

Republican Party requests that Tbilisi City Hall fulfills its obligation and ensures free construction of numerators in Tbilisi territory.
