Activists of the National Movement Prohibited People to Meet Inga Grigolia

June 24, 2011

Incident occurred between the activists of the National Movement and Christian-Democrat Movement. Inga Grigolia, member of the Tbilisi City Council from the Christian-Democrat Movement, informed the Palitra.tv about it.

She said a group of activists from the ruling party attacked them in Khmelnitski Street, Isani-Samgori district when they were meeting local people. The activists demanded the people to go home.

“They lacked only masks; otherwise they acted like riot police officers. They demanded the people to immediately leave the area shouting: the district belongs to Khvicha Sanaia and local people respect him. Khvicha Sanaia represents Isani-Samgori district to the City Council from the National Movement.  They threatened people – leave the place or we will disperse you. Apparently, the National Movement has already launched election campaign that is nothing more than terror against population,” said Grigolia.

Member of the City Council warned the government to stop terror against the population.

“They should answer us what was purpose of their zonder-brigades today when they attacked the members of the Christian-Democrat Movement. While Saakalashvili and his government are claiming that they have eradicated criminal mentality in the country, they should explain to us the meaning of the phrase: “this district belongs to Khvicha Sanaia,” said Grigolia.

The member of the City Council said they know the names of four harassments: “They are Valeri Mujirishvili, Zurab Dzneladze, Mamuka Razmadze and Paata Kobaleishvili. We have their photos and video-recording of their activities in Isani-Samgori district, said Grigolia.
