June 26 – International Day in Support of Torture Victims!

At 6:00 pm on May 26, Sunday,the member organizations of the Human Rights House Tbilisi – the Human Rights Center, The Georgian Centre for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims, the Union “Sapari” and the Article 42 of the Constitution will organize a joint event in support of torture victims in theApril 9 Park (former Aleksandrov Park), Tbilisi.

The slogan of the event is: “Georgia – Torture Free Zone.”

The torture weapon will be exhibited in the April 9 Park.

At 7:00 pm participants will move to the territory in front of the Youth Palace (Rustaveli Avenue) and organize a theatre event there.

The purpose of the event is to draw the public attention to torture facts again. We also want to call upon the Georgian government to prevent torture and inhuman treatment in the country and to immediately investigate all similar facts.
