Head of Dusheti Police and Two Police Officers Detained

MIA General Inspection detained head of Dusheti district police Vakhtang Dididze and police officers Levan Kokhreidze and Zurab Korbesashvili.

Information Center of Mtskheta-Mtianeti reported that a special operation was carried out in Dusheti center on June 23, midday. Head of General Inspection Giorgi Gegechkori was leading the operation. Reportedly, the police officers were accused of bribery. They requested money from a person for employing him at the Dusheti police department.

Several hours after the detention, Vakhtang Dididze and detective-investigator Levan Kokhreidze were released. The chief police officer has already resigned. Zurab Korbesashvili was sent to pretrial imprisonment.

The MIA General Inspection is investigating the fact.
