Restaurants and fast-food café personnel have been offering an apology notice to their visitors for the last several days which state that due to increased price on meat, the administration has to significantly increase price on meat-dishes.
The same notice states that the café/restaurant always purchase local, fresh meat to prepare meat dishes and consequently they have to pay increased price for the meat in Natakhtari Butchery. Although a customer will not easily guess whether Khinkali (famous meat dish) is cooked of fresh meat or meat imported from India or of frozen meat, the current situation about fresh meat in Georgian market is a good “excuse” for the restaurants to increase prices on their dishes. If the restaurants try to maintain old prices in order not to lose their customers, they reduce amount of meat in their dishes. In both cases, customers lose, whose rights are completely ignored in similar situation.
