EPA Editor-in-Chief Cengiz Seren – We will not Yield

July 13, 2011

Representatives of European Press Photo Agency (EPA) are not going to arrive in Georgia yet. The editor-in-chief of EPA Cengiz Seren stated the corresponding to interpressnews.

“We have not sent delegation to Georgia. I would love to come to Tbilisi but I am not going to since my agency is charged with the espionage. I will come when everything is clear. We are going to send all the available information we have to Georgian media, international organizations and lawyers. We will not yield. We are protesting the detention of our photo reporters. We ask them to either present notable evidence or apologize. Georgian government blames the agency that we are part of espionage circle,” – noted Cengiz Seren.

Zurab Kurtsikidze arrested under the charge of espionage was the photo reporter of EPA. According to the disseminated information, the representatives of the agency were going to arrive in Georgia for July 12th.
