Robert Sturua: Georgian Nation Must Say “No” to This Government Like Germans Neglected Hitler

July 13, 2011

Art-director of the Rustaveli Theatre Robert Sturual told the newspaper “Every News” that “Georgian nation shall say “No” to this government like Germans neglected Hitler.

“We Georgians must regret our sins. Orthodox Church should initiate it and our country will survive. If you worship devil, something bad awaits you”, Robert Sturua said.

He believes it was early to enact the law on the status of religious unions.

“We, Georgians are in bad condition, we should recover from it. Let them first gain back the lost lands and then start speaking about the new laws. Although nobody is shooting in our country, we are in war situation. Georgian Orthodox Church has never broken into houses of Muslims or other religions and forced to convert to Christianity.

We are generous people. We have not invaded strange lands; everything happens on the contrary. Look at the map – our churches are in all our neighboring countries because those lands once belonged to us. But now we are silent. It is not right. You should not be in the government only for your perfect life and forget your homeland. Georgian people are annoyed with it”, Sturua said.

He thinks Mikheil Saakashvili would have resigned after we lost new territories and would not have held military parade after the dispersal on 26 May or brought Sharon Stone to Georgia.
