Authorized Representative of Shatili Community Sacked for Being Interviewed by Journalist

September 7, 2011

Dusheti district governor sacked authorized representative of Shatili community Nino Chincharauli from job. According to the Information Center of Mtkheta-Mtianeti, she was punished for making comments with journalists.

On August 16, ICMM published an article Dusheti Governor and Zurab Otiashvili Blaimed in Corruption.  Former employee of procurement department at the Dusheti district administration Dodo Chokheli said the local authority wasted 9 422 GEL on river-bank reinforcement activities in November of 2009 in Shatili; however, similar works were impossible to carry out due to heavy snow.

Nino Chincharauli confirmed in her interview with the ICMM that in 2009 road to Shatili was blocked in October and movement was impossible before spring; consequently, nothing was done in Shatili.

According to the verified information, next day, on August 17 Nino Chinchaurauli was invited to the district administration and demanded to leave job. Chincharauli confirmed that she wrote resignation letter though it was her personal decision. “I wrote resignation letter based on my own decision. I got married and could not travel to Shatili any longer,” said Chincharauli.

“Chincharauli filed resignation application to us. We satisfied her request,” Dusheti district governor Lasha Janashvili told the ICMM.

Currently, Shatili community does not have an authorized representative.
