Israeli Embassy Protests Cruel and Inhuman Treatment of Jewish Businessmen

Israeli Embassy in Georgia is deeply concerned about rude and improper treatment of Israeli citizens Ron Fuchs and Zeev Frenkiel in Georgian custody.

Israeli Embassy reported to the Interpresnews that diplomatic office sent protest letters to the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, Ministry of Correction and Legal Aid, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Public Defender of Georgia.

Ron Fuchs sent letter to his lawyer where he complained about his improper treatment. Kbilashvili told journalists that according to his client, at 2:00 am on September 17 masked men in black clothes entered his cell, made him stand at the wall and raise his hands.

Kbilashvili informed the Israeli ambassador about the fact who visited Fuchs and Frenkiel in prison. According to the lawyer, the ambassador forwarded Ron Fuchs’ letter to Tel-Aviv.

Jewish businessmen were arrested last year for offering the bribe to the deputy minister of finances of Georgia. The Georgian court put Ron Fuchs in prison for 6,5 years and Zeev Frenkiel for 7,5 years.
