Gurjaani and Gori District Will No Longer Have Representatives in the Parliament of Georgia

Two MPs – single mandate MP from Gurjaani district Giorgi Chiviashvili and single mandate candidate from Gori district Giorgi Tatishvili have their authority suspended at the Parliament of Georgia this week.

Based on the resolution of the Minister of Justice of Georgia, Giorgi Chiviashvili occupied position of Kakheti Regional Prosecutor and based on the decree of the President of Georgia Giorgi Tatishvili has become the Regional Governor of Shida Kartli.

According to the Election Code of Georgia, interim elections cannot be held in Gurjaani and Gori due to short time before the upcoming parliamentary elections. So, those two districts will not have representatives in the parliament of current convocation.
