Dusheti District Administration and Municipal Board Block Information Totally

Information Center of Mtskheta-Mtianeti reports that Dusheti district administration and municipal board block the information totally.

ICMM, which is the only independent media-organization in the region, has filed 40 applications and 4 administrative complaints to the Dusheti district administration and municipal board from June to September, 2011 where the center requested public information. The applications and complaints were not discussed in compliance with the law.

The ICMM mostly requested information about the expenditure of the local budget sums. The journalists could not receive complete information about the salaries and bonuses of the local public officials as well as the expenditure sums for the rehabilitation of water-supply system.

“The local authority does not inform us even about the date and venue of the session; so the journalists cannot attend the session,” said Gela Mtivlishvili, director of the ICMM.
