Bzarashvilis Are Free

October 10, 2011

Ossetian side released Bzarashvilis, detained for illegal crossing of the administrative border. The mother of the detained Giga and Shota Bzarashvilis informed the ICMM about it.

“At the moment, my sons and my brother-in-law Elizbar Bzarashvili are in Regional Police Department in Gori. The representatives of the International Red Cross brought them from Tskhinvali; they feel well,” said Maya Bzarashvili, the mother.

On August 22, Ossetian law enforcement officers detained brothers Shota and Giga Bzarashvilis, 21 and 22, from Dzalisi village in Mtskheta district, and their uncle Elizbar Bzarashvili, 33, for illegal crossing of the administrative border near Akhalgori. They were hunting near Tsitelubani village in Gori district.

Ossetian side intended to judge them for illegal crossing of the administrative border and possession of semi-automatic guns. The detainees were in Tskhinvali detention setting together with other 17 citizens of Georgia.
