12.10.2011
Three people, kidnapped from Odzisi village in Dusheti district, Paata Javakhishvili, 52, Giorgi Gurgenishvili, 35 and one more unidentified person were taken to Tskhinvali detention setting.

The ICMM was told at the Akhalgori district administration that Ossetian law enforcement officers detained for illegal crossing of border. The detainees have not been charged yet and pretrial detention was not imposed on them either.

Three people were kidnapped in Odzisi village in the morning of October 11.

“My brother went to the forest to collect tree-branches. He took a donkey with him. When he did not return in the evening, I went to look for him. I found the donkey but my brother was nowhere. People say Russians detained him,” Mamuka Javakhishvili’s brother Paata Javakhishvili told the ICMM.

Odzisi village is the last village which borders with Akhalgori district. Akhmaji village in Akhalgori district is one kilometer away from Odzisi.
