Citizen Addresses Office of Prosecutor with the Request to Prosecute Policeman

Citizen Vazha Mzhavanadze requests the prosecution of Emzar Surmanidze head of II police department of Adjara Police. Otherwise, he plans to start hunger strike in front of the President’s Administration. Adjara Office of Prosecutor does not comment on the issue.

According to Vazha Mzhavanadze, the law-enforcement official Surmanidze appropriated his property, including his highly valued gun: “During the period of criminal investigation against Zaza Mzhavanadze, the detective-investigator of MIA main agency of Adjara Emzar Surmanidze appropriated items which belonged to me and my family. However he had given a guarantee that the highly valued gun (logo of the producer: L.SCHIWY BERLIN S.W. 68) and others items would be given back.”

Emzar Surmanidze is currently a head of II police department of Adjara main agency of MIA. Mzhavanadze had addressed different structures regarding the unlawful acts of Emzar Surmanidze, including Constitutional Security Department of Georgia, Ministry of Justice of Georgia, President’s Administration which redirected the letter to the Adjara Office of Prosecutor.

Vazha Mzhavanadze: “On June 1st of 2011 I received following reply from the head of anti-corruption investigation department of Adjara Office of Prosecutor: “According to the received material, the facts enumerated in your statement do not include the crime elements. The chief investigator of anti-corruption investigation department Putkaradze made this decision after he met only me in his cabinet. As for my brother, he had following conversation with him: “How are you brother. What are these statements you are asking me to write?!”
