Ad Roll of the Georgian Defense Ministry Is Plagiarism

October 28, 2011

Russian agency “SibNovosti” nominated top ten posts of Russian bloggers of the day. The post about the Georgian video-roll ranked the fourth place on the list.

Blogger Drugoi posted about the video-roll of the Georgian Defense Ministry which has been broadcasted by Georgian national TV-Companies for the last few days. In the roll, Georgian people thank to Georgian soldiers for their service in Afghanistan. The post with the title Thank You по-грузински states that the promo-video of Georgian soldiers is absolute copy of the American roll which was aired several years ago.

“Several years ago, an American beer company Anheuser-Busch prepared a perfect video-roll in support of the US Army. The Defense Ministry of Georgia, who does its best to imitate American people in everything, produced their roll too,” the post reads which is attached by both American and Georgian rolls to compare with each other.

900 users commented on the Russian blogger’s post within a day. Most of them made ironic comments; but several users appreciated the attempt of Georgia to take good examples of the most powerful state of the world.
