Irakli Alasania: Creditors of Cartu Bank Summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office

November 4, 2011

Leader of the Free Democrats Irakli Alasania stated large creditors of the Cartu Bank have been summoned to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office.

Alasania told the Interpresnews that businesspersons informed him about it.

“According to my information, based on the direct order of the Minister of Justice Zurab Adeishvili large creditors of the Cartu Bank were summoned to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office and they were told they should not pay the loan to the bank any longer. Thus, they want to hinder the sustainability of the Cartu Bank. Reportedly, Zurab Adeishvili is involved in planning the potential steps that should be taken by the National Bank – introduction of interim management to the Cartu Bank. It will be politically motivated decision,” said Alasania.

Despite many efforts, Alasania did not announce names of the creditors. He said he did not want to create extra problems for businessmen.
