Supervisory Service Gave Two Days to “Planeta Forte” and “Matsne” to Remove their Booths

November 24, 2011

“Planeta Forte” and “Matsne”, press distribution companies informed InterPressNews that Tbilisi City Hall supervisory service gave them two days to remove their booths from the city.

“Representatives of the press distribution companies were summoned to the City Hall today and were instructed to remove the booths in two days, otherwise they will act in accordance to the law. The supervisory service says that the reason is not having permission. Years ago, when the booths were placed, The City Hall’s resolution was enough to place booths and we hold those documents. But now they demand a plot leasing contract that is new requirement and of course we do not have it”, InterPressNews was told by the head of “Planeta Forte” Merab Chanchalashvili.

Chanchalashvili said he was demanded to remove 6 booths and thus he will have to sack about 10 employees.

“Initially I had 80 booths. They made me to remove part of the eventually and now I have 38. Now I have to remove 6 more. It means the organization might be closed” he said.

Matsne representative Tinatin Kharbedia states they also have to remove 12 booths and they are waiting for a written instruction from the City Hall to find out concrete locations of the to-be-removed booths.

Reportedly, the Auction was announced for the spots where press booths are located. Besides that, the Property Management Agency of the Tbilisi City Hall told the IPN that the comment on the issue will be spread in written form.
