Ala Jioyeva Announced Herself President of South Ossetia

Ala Jioeva the winner of South Ossetia de-facto presidential elections announced herself President of de-facto Republic. The radio Ekho Moskvy has been reporting on the following.

Jioyeva disseminated a special statement on November 30th. She notes in the statement that the state Council is being formed which will operate till the “legitimate state bodies” are formed.

A protest rally of Jioyeva’s supporters is planned in Tskhinvali. The action of non-compliance towards the decision of de-facto Supreme Court will start about the same time.

The current de-facto government talks about the danger of “Colorful Revolution.” Eldar Kokoev who is performing the duty of Chief Prosecutor talks stated the following.

According to Kokoev, all criminal acts including those of of Ala Jioyeva will be suppressed. He states that Ala Jioyeva passed all legal boundaries and all this looks like the scenario of “colorful revolution.”

The so-called supreme court of de-facto South Ossetia annulled the Presidential Elections of November 29th. De-facto court prohibited the winner Ala Jioyeva to participate in the repeat polls. De-facto Parliament set repeat polls for March 25th of 2012.

The second round of Presidential elections was held on November 27th. According to the data of de-facto Central Election Commission, Ala Jioyeva won the elections. Her competitor Anatoly Bibilov does not acknowledge his defeat.
