Seminar About Military, Security and Police Equipment

On December 6, the Omega Research Foundation held a seminar about Monitoring and Investigation of the Use of Military, Security and Police Equipment in the Tbilisi based Hotel “Old Metekhi”.

Various sorts of rubber and plastic bullets, tear gas, acoustic weapon, equipment to disperse people during riots and demonstrations by law enforcement bodies were presented during the seminar.

The weapon can be manufactured based on direct order of a government of any country.

The speaker also presented handcuffs and other weapon necessary for the detention of a person.

Some of the equipment presented during the seminar is used in Georgia too. Georgian law enforcement bodies have been supplied with similar equipment.

The weapons, which were used during the dispersal on November 7, 2007, were also presented and discussed during the seminar. Among them were rubber bullets with color paints as well as bullets with teasing substances on top of them. The speaker said those bullets were also used during the dispersal of November 7 demonstration.
