Investigation Office Refused Farmers to Start Investigation on Unpaid Price of Their Grape

December 14, 2011

Kakheti regional department of the investigative office within the Ministry of Finances refused the farmers from Gurjaani district villages to start investigation on forgery in the Ltd Grubeli which did not pay the price for the grape they had purchased from the farmers.

22 farmers delivered grapes to Zegaani and Mukuzani village vine-factories of the Ltd Grubeli in 2008. The farmers requested the Ltd administration to pay the price several times but in vain; afterwards the peasants filed a complaint to the investigative office of the Ministry of Finances.

“According to the agreement with the Ltd Grubeli, the parties will appeal to the court to settle the disagreement. The facts mentioned in the suit shall be discussed by the Court under the Civil Law; relatively the farmers can appeal to the court,” said Khuta Pachkoria, head of the Kakheti department of the investigative office.
