Nino Kalandadze: “Temur Alasania Will Only Be Consultant at the Foreign Ministry”

January 16, 2012

President’s uncle Temur Alasania will cooperate with the Foreign Ministry of Georgia as a consultant. Georgian deputy foreign minister Nino Kalandadze stated about it at the traditional briefing with the journalists.

Nino Kalandadze added that the foreign ministry decided to cooperate with Temur Alasania. She clarified that it not a diplomatic position at all, it is technical cooperation which has consulting character only.

“It is not a diplomatic position of a counselor; it is just consulting due to his long-term experience in the UN; we asked him to assist us with consultations,” said Nino Kalandadze.

According to the deputy minister, it will be free of charge service. Temur Alasania will share his experience and knowledge with the foreign ministry and the latter will take advantage of the received information.

Kalandadze added they had signed 6-month labor agreement with Temur Alasania. The agreement expired on December 31 and in January the agreement will be prolonged.
