Number of Suicide Increased in Georgia

Recently, more suicide cases have occurred in Georgia. According to statistic data, 368 suicide facts occurred in 2008, 2009 and in 2010. The most accidents – 188 happened in 2009.

“67 suicide facts occurred in 2008; 188 in 2009 and 113 in 2010. As for the data from 2011, it is still being processed and will be published in June of 2012. The information relies on the data provided by medical institutions and Civil Registration Agency,” deputy executive director of the Georgian National Bureau of Statistics Tengiz Tsekvava told the ICK.
