“Long Live Bidzina!” – Police Beat about Ten People for this Exclamation

Police beat about ten people at the concert held in the center of Sachkhere due to the exclamation “Long Live Bidzina!”

The incident took place at night on January 13th during the concert.
The representatives of the Governor of the region and local government talked about the works conducted by the government in the region. Some of the spectators protested against the attribution of Ivanishvili’s works to the government.

As one of the representatives of the “Georgian Dream” reported, based on the information received from sufferers, the employees of the Special Operative Department reacted to the exclamation. They pulled the people who started the exclamation from the masses by force and handed them over to the policemen sitting in the cars nearby. According to the sufferers, police put them in the cars by force and took them afar in a dark place; some were taken to the railway station where they were beaten with glass bottles.

Four people are in severe conditions. One leg of one of the sufferers is broken. According to them, some of the policemen were from Kutaisi.

According to unverified information, only two people addressed hospitals for help.

One of the sufferers is juvenile. He has less severe injuries.

Representatives of Georgian Dream were in Sachkhere on January 16th and met with the sufferers.
