Life of the ex-candidate of South Ossetia’s de-facto presidency is out of danger. According to Russian media, doctors of Tskhinvali central hospital informed them about it.

According to the Russian media, Dzhioyeva suffered a heart attack and a stroke on her left side; however, doctors say she will feel better in 3-4 days. Ala Dzhioyeva has revived but suffers from pains. News agency “RE” reported that Dzhioyeva might be transported to a Moscow based medical center.

Additionally, Ala Dzhioyeva’s supporters gathered near the hospital but medical personnel do not allow them to see Dzhioyeva. The special unit is guarding in the hospital. Only her brother managed to see the opposition leader.

Tskhinvali De-facto MIA claims nobody assaulted Ala Dzhioyeva during the operative-investigation operations in the office of ex-candidate of presidency and police officers acted correctly in accordance to the law.

On February 9, de-facto special unit of South Ossetia stormed Ala Dzhioyeva’s office as a result of what the opposition leader felt bad. She was placed in intensive therapy department of the Tskhinvali central hospital. Russian media reported that Ala Dzhioyeva had micro heart attack as the doctors stated.

“Attack on Ala Dzhioyeva’s office was worse than war with Georgia,” Dzhioyeva’s supporters commented about last night incident in Tskhinvali. “Entire operation was violent. It lasted one hour. It was worse than our war with Georgian people. I could not expect our people, Ossetians, to treat each other so brutally,” Dzhioyeva’s supporter wrote on the Ossetian website.

Witnesses of the night incident state that a summon about interrogation at the Prosecutor’s Office was delivered in the office at 6:30 pm; it stated that Dzhioyeva was to appear at the Prosecutor’s Office at 6:30 pm. So, her supporters believe in fact the law enforcement bodies intended to arrest her under the charge of not appearing at the Prosecutor’s Office.

Dzhioyeva’s lawyer Yuri Kokoev suggested investigator Alam Pliev to interrogate her on the place but Pliyev refused.

“Afterwards, masked people with automatic guns burst into the HQ office. They did not wear any signs and IDs. About 20 of them entered the building and 200 officers were standing outside. Later we learned they were officers of the Special Rapid Response Unit. They burst into the largest room shouting. Smashed glass door with guns and legs; they were beating men who were trying to cover Dzhioyeva. One masked officer hit Dzhioyeva with a butt and she fainted. Three masked officers dragged her out of the room,” a witness recalled.

He added that women in the office started screaming after Dzhioyeva fainted and called ambulance. The masked people arrested Dzhioyeva’s lawyer too.

Ossetian journalist Maria Pliyeva told the Information Center of Mtskheta Mtianeti that there is unpredictable situation in Tskhinvali. “It is first time when a person appointed by the Kremlin governs South Ossetia. He is guilty in the attack on Dzhioyeva’s office. In fact it was violent change of the government. Ala Dzhioyeva is partly paralyzed. As for the population, I do not except mass protest from them but the situation is still unpredictable.”

Besides that, interim de-facto president of South Ossetia Vadim Brovtsev made statement about prevented anti-constitutional coup after the attack on Dzhioyeva’s office. “As an interim president of South Ossetia I am authorized to declare that we prevented attempt of anti-constitutional coup in the republic. Additional measures will be taken to protect constitutional law and freedom of citizens in the country.”

Brovtsev said various political powers try to extremely tense civil-political situation in the country. “Ex-candidate of presidency Ala Dzhioyeva publicly stated that she intended an Inauguration Ceremony on February 10 that contradicts the resolutions of the parliament and other state institutions.”

He added that in accordance to the Constitution, he will ensure execution of the parliament’s resolution which scheduled the presidential elections on March 25. Brovtsev said the government will take all measures to hold elections in accordance to the law.
