Competition for Journalists – Human Rights: Focus on Torture

The Georgian Centre for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT) together with the Human Rights Center (HRIDC) and Human Rights House Tbilisi (HRHT) is announcing a competition for journalists and bloggers on the topic

Human rights – focus on torture

The competition aims to nominate best journalistic works on human rights, particularly on torture.

Interested people can submit applications from January 27 to May 25, 2012

Awards will be given in five nominations:

1. Best TV/Video story;
2. Best Radio Story;
3. Best journalistic investigation in the newspaper;
4. Best newspaper article;
5. Best blog-post

Journalists living in Georgia are kindly invited to participate in the competition. The materials can be submitted in Georgian language.

The submitted materials shall be published in any printed or online media outlet in 2011 or in 2012.

You can read detailed information about the competition requirements in the attached document.

The winner of each nomination will receive 700 GEL and the author of the best blog-post will receive 500 GEL.

The award ceremony will be held on June 26, 2012 on the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
