Salaries of Village Heads and Specialists Increase

According to the decree of the President, the salaries of the heads of the territorial bodies and specialists have increased. The salary for the heads of the villages which used to be 400 GEL has been increased up to 700 GEL from February 1st. As for salary of specialists, it increased from 200 to 250 GEL.

As the head of Gurjaani Municipality City Council Zakaria Iaganashvili stated to Kakheti Information Center, the decree will take force from February 1st.

According to the head of NGO Civil Activism Center Lia Khuroshvili, the expenses for the local government were big anyways and it reached 20-25% of the municipal budgets. After the changes are made, this money will increase more. According to her, the increase of salaries is connected to the planned elections. “Ruling party needs human resource. Heads of village and specialists have been successfully used for pre-election campaign in the past as well and now they will be used more, their labor will not pass in vain,” – Khuroshvili noted.
