Medvedev Blocked His Facebook Profile for Georgian Bloggers

February 24, 2012

Russian President Dimitry Medvedev blocked his page on Facebook for Georgian bloggers. It happened after the Georgian bloggers left protest statements about the occupation of Georgian territory on his page.

The initiator of the idea, blogger Giorgi Jakhaia said the bloggers decided to consequently post comments on Medvedev’s page about withdrawal of occupant armies from the territory of Georgia. They agreed that their comments should not breach ethic norms. After the comments exceeded several hundred, administrators started to delete them from the President’s page. However, the number of comments hindered them to delete everything. So, the page was blocked for Georgian internet-users.
