Students Held Protest Action with Request to Investigate Case of Soso Kimeridze

March 5, 2012

In the central square in Khashuri, near the building of Khashuri police the members of student organization Laboratory 1918 held a protest action with the request to investigate death case of Solomon Kimeridze.

The main request of young people was disclosure of the uninvestigated cases. According to the action participants, the fact is that Soso Kimeridze died in the hands of police and they do not believe the official version according to which Kimeridze fell from the stairs.

Protest action took form of theatrical performance. The members of youth organization came to the building with whistlers and brought posters with different content. Besides, they sang a police hymn with changed words:

“Dear President, I gave a promise -
Serve you in this unjust battle.
Police to die for system!
People to live in coma!
Let us fear the system,
Let us face the outcome:
If you do not keep quiet,
Your death term will come.”

As the members of youth organization state these words reflect reality and anybody can find himself/herself in Soso Kimeridze’s situation.
