Georgian Dream’s Activist Sacked

April 19, 2012

Activist of the political coalition Georgian Dream Zura Tergiashvili, who worked as an ambulance driver at the Gurjaani district medical emergency center, was sacked from job.

Zura Tergiashvili told ICK that before being sacked he was initially summoned to the Chamber of Control and then to police because he supported the Georgian Dream.

“Certain Ilia Otarashvili called me from police and said they wanted to question me. I arrived at the police station together with the lawyer of the Georgian Dream’s Gurjaani office. “They asked me about all details starting where I was registered, my passport number, everything; where I work, etc. I continued working as an ambulance driver at the Gurjaani 03 service. On April 1, a list of new employees arrived from Tbilisi. There were 12 drivers in the center but only I was sacked according to that list. I had worked there for seven years and had never rebuked for bad behavior,” Zura Tergiashvili said.

“I have not sacked anybody. GeoHospital has fired him. I have not received the order on his dismissal either. I just received a new order about new personnel and Tergiashvili was not on the list,” Manana Berikashvili, director of the Gurjaani Emergency Center said.

On March 9, Zviad Kviralashvili, member of the Gurjaani district office of the political coalition Georgian Dream was also fired. He was deputy director of the Ketilmostskoba Ltd, founded by the municipal board, and his contract was due to May 1, 2012. Director of the Ltd Parnaoz Beroshvili is son of Manana Berikashvili, head of Gurjaani district emergency service.
