Civil Service Development Agency to Be Created Instead Civil Registration Agency

Civil Service Development Agency will be established in Georgia instead Civil Registration Agency. The draft-law about the agency was already initiated at the Parliament of Georgia.

The Civil Service Development Agency will receive the property and financial sources of the CRA.

According to the project, the purpose of the Agency will be promotion of state service development and introduction of new, innovation services; to support important projects and reforms for the country development, operation of the civil registration and its permanent completion.

The Agency will create well-arranged system of registration and documenting of citizens of Georgia, foreign citizens living in Georgia and other persons defined in the Georgian law. It will also issue ID or citizenship documents; residence certificates and visas; registration or removal from registration of citizens of Georgia at consulates.

The reorganization of the CRA will start one month after the new law goes in force.

The authors and initiators of the draft-law are MPs Kakha Anjaparidze, Zviad Kukava and Pavle Kublashvili.
