Akhmeta District Governor Koba Maisuradze Spent Several Minutes in Detention

June 5, 2012

According to exclusive information of the Information Center of Kakheti, several days ago law enforcement officers detained Akhmeta district governor Koba Maisuradze. The source of information said the governor was detained because of unreasonable waste of money allocated on fire-emergency service units from the local budget.

“Several minutes later, the governor was released after MP Petre Tsiskarishvili from the parliamentary majority and Akhmeta district independent candidate interfered in the situation,” the source said.

Akhmeta district governor Koba Maisuradze did not confirm the information about his detention. “No, it is not true, when, why? Who told you that?” the governor inquired.

The employees of the district administration also confirmed the information about governor’s detention.

Despite many attempts ICK could not get through Petre Tsiskarishvili’s phone number.

According to verified information, investigation on unreasonable expenditure of Akhmeta district budget is underway.

It is noteworthy that several days ago, head of Akhmeta district fire-emergency service unit Besik Nasipashvili resigned from the position. He does not comment on the reasons of his resignation.
