President’s Seesaws for Lonely Old People

June 12, 2012

Two lonely old people – Nina Berdzeni and Mariam Chokheli live in different houses in Rkoni village in Kaspi district. In the frame of the village program initiated by President of Georgia, seesaws were installed in the village for those two women.

Winter lasts too long in mountainous village of Rkoni village; besides that the old women have to fetch drinking water from long distance.

The old women learned about village program after seesaws were installed in front of their houses though they would have been happier to have drinking water system rehabilitated in the village. Village councilor Giorgi Salkhinashvili said about 2 200 lari was allocated for the village this year. “Villagers requested rehabilitation of the drinking water system but there were not enough funds; so we arranged sport complex!!! for them,” Salkhinashvili said.
